GJC was commissioned by the Cancer Council of NSW
to develop and implement an Indigenous communication
campaign about smoking in the car and home. This
involved the production of billboards and brochures
Reason for Engagement
GJC was approached by the Cancer Council to pitch
for the creative campaign
“Car and Home: Smoke Free Zone” targeting the Indigenous community.
GJC won the contract, due to the strength of our pitch and our reputation for
high production values and creative approach.
Client’s Needs
The Cancer Council is committed to communicating with
Indigenous people about the dangers of smoking around
children. They required a culturally sensitive and
engaging approach to communicate the message.
GJC’s approach
GJC developed a creative brief, which involved conducting
a photo-shoot, where GJC was involved from the conception
of the shoot to casting, location scouting, managing
the shoot and using the imagery in the layout of
the campaign materials. GJC also wrote all copy
and designed all products for the campaign.
Project Outcome
The campaign was very successful in achieving its
aims and objectives. The poster and brochure developed
for this campaign were very well received within
the Indigenous community. The billboard developed as part of this campaign
is still being used, two years after its development.
Materials Delivered
Poster, brochure and billboard.
