Walking Into Doors was a national, awareness-raising
campaign focusing on the issue of domestic and family
violence in Aboriginal communities. The primary aim
of this campaign was to encourage dialogue within Aboriginal
communities on this important issue at national, State/Territory
and local levels.
The campaign involved a series of
10 forums on family and domestic violence using local
advocates and spokespeople Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter.
The tour campaign was assisted by collateral material
that GJC produced – including press and radio
advertising, posters, brochures and community-specific
contact cards, which were distributed throughout 10
communities with up-to-date National, State/Territory
and local help numbers. This campaign was conducted
in conjunction with Cultural Partners Australia.
